About the Event

Mr. Øgreid is employed by Norway's Hydrographic Services, which is a department of Norway's Mapping Authority. He works most of the time with instruments for measuring the water level in the sea. In this connection, he has been to over 300 different places along Norway's coast and installed tide gauges. Places such as Norway's volcanic island of Jan Mayen and Ny-Ålesund, Svalbard, which is the world's northernmost city and year-round research station. As part of the construction preparations, he has had temporary tide gauges in several of the places which will be presented.

He also has assignments for the Norwegian Space Agency.

He is a competitive handgun shooter which also entails some traveling in Norway. In shooting, he is the Norwegian champion 59 times and has participated in the Norwegian national shooting team.

He and his partner travel in Norway, either by car or motorbike. Often the trip goes to the wonderful places he has seen in connection with work.
