Bill Scheiderich is the 2016 recipient of the Member of the Year Award. Bill was born in upstate New York and after three years of military service and college he moved to Chicago for his first job in accounting. He has lived here ever since. He retired as the controller for Labor Temps, a large staffing agency with multiple offices in the Midwest. He was introduced to the Norwegian community in Chicago after he met Jorunn in early 2000. His first trip to Norway was the NACC trip before Christmas that year; he has visited Norway numerous times since then. Bill was elected Treasurer and Board member of the chapter in 2007. He retired from that position in 2015. He also serves on the Board of Friends of the Viking ship, where he is also the Treasurer and is active in other clubs and organizations. He lives in Chicago with his wife, Jorunn. Together they have 4 children and 7 grandchildren. Bill loves to play golf and travel in his spare time.
